Doors Open works both at national as well as international locations. We are based in Javastraat 281 in The Hague, Netherlands. From The Hague Central Station, Doors Open is 7 minutes by tram 9 or bus 22. There is sufficient free and paid parking in the area.

Traditional leadership programmes focus on the brain, grounded in the belief that knowing how to lead is enough. Embodied leadership moves beyond that. It connects the intelligence of the body to the brain, driving actions for sustainable behavioural change.

Our ideal participants are corporate leaders and executives, team leaders and managers, entrepreneurs, and women looking for a career transition. This edition of the Embodied Leadership Retreat is exclusively for women.

What can I expect to learn and experience during the two-day retreat?

During the Retreat you will expand your personal leadership repertoire to: 

  • Recognising stress signals in your body and using those signals to navigate challenging situations and ultimately reducing stress.
  • Take confident decisions, voice your opinions, take up space, and say no to things you don’t want to say yes to, even in high pressure situations
  • Set clear boundaries and stay true to your commitments.
  • Be your best and authentic self while leading yourself and others.
  • Learn how to take off your mask and show up in the world as your true self.
  • Build genuine connections with your team and the people around you

You will actively engage in somatic practices starting from the first moments of the retreat. Many people need to deal with high pressure at work, which can cause you to adapt in the wrong way: you put on a mask. You adjust to your surroundings in order to fit in. Somatic practices enable you to navigate difficult situations without putting on that mask to hide behind. Somatics help you connect the mind and body, reduce stress, build emotional strength, increase self-awareness, and deepen your connections with yourself and others.

This two-day Retreat is a total of €1.450,- excluding VAT, and your booking can be done through Eventbrite.

Yes, the retreat is designed to be highly interactive, ensuring that you will begin building connections right from the start. Additionally, we’ll enjoy a dinner on the first evening and finish with networking drinks at the end of the retreat.

All meals, food and beverages are included in the Retreat package. After each retreat day you can return home or stay atan accommodation of your choice in The Hague (not included).

You do not need to bring anything specific with you to the Retreat as all materials will be provided for you. In preparation for the Retreat there will be an online webinar. We recommend joining this webinar and take notes where necessary to ensure the best experience during the Retreat itself.

After completing the Retreat all participants will receive two 1-on-1 coaching sessions with the facilitators Suzanne Mau-Asam and Boudewijn Bertsch. They will also have lifelong access to digital resources explaining the content of the Retreat, and they get to take home all physical resources that have been provided to them during the Retreat, such as a personalised workbook.
